Why choose plastic fasteners over metal fasteners
Plastic fasteners are usually formed by injection molding or lathe processing. In recent years, a commercial production mode has also been formed. With the further popularization of plastic fasteners, plastic fasteners are more appropriate than metal fasteners in many application scenarios. But why?
Plastic fasteners have the following advantages over metal fasteners:
1 Insulated and non-magnetic
Common materials used for plastic fasteners are nylon 66, PVDF, PP, peek and other materials, which have insulating and non-magnetic properties.

2 Light weight
Plastic fasteners are generally much lighter than metal fasteners in weight. In addition, nylon 66 with 30% glass fiber has outstanding mechanical properties on the basis of light weight, which improves the tensile strength, deformation temperature and shear strength, improves the creep resistance and dimensional stability, and reduces the water absorption and thermal expansion.

3 Corrosion resistance
Nylon screws have good acid and alkaline resistance. PVDF screws perform best, followed by polypropylene. Both of them have strong acid and alkali resistance. Therefore, nylon screws, especially PVDF screws, are widely used in strong acid and alkali environments in some electroplating industries

4 Thermal insulation
Nylon has good toughness and flame retardant properties (in line with 94ul), plus elasticity and excellent electrical and chemical properties. It has incomparable advantages over traditional materials, and has become increasingly indispensable in the industrial field.
5 Aesthetics
PC plastic screw (polycarbonate), which is crystal clear (transmittance reaches 90%). For example, the frame of photos, the decorative shell of motorcycles, PCB circuit boards and so on. Who can resist the combination of beauty and practicality.

However, there are also some scenarios that cannot be replaced:
Plastic screws have less torsion than stainless steel screws due to material characteristics
Secondly, plastic screws have certain water absorption performance. Due to shrinkage of plastic properties, temperature and humidity, forming cycle and other reasons, the size is too small or the size error is too large. And the material of plastic is soft. Therefore, when measuring with ring gauge, conventional measurement method cannot be used.
